BB&T Center and Economics Department to Host Annual Meeting of the Cliometric Society Apr 24, 2014
The 2014 Annual Meeting of the Cliometric Society will be held in Clemson, SC May 16-17. The conference brings together economic historians from across the world, and is funded by the National Science Foundation.
The Cliometric Society consists of scholars who apply economic theory and statistical methods to the study of economic history. The conference has been held annually since 1960, and this year will be attended by scholars from England, France, Germany, Scotland, and Norway, in addition to scholars from across the U.S.
This year's particpants will present papers on such topics as the Impact of Budget Fluctuations on African American Schools in the Early 20th Century, Impacts on Migration on Health, Sovereign Default, and Fiscal Crises and Constitutional Reform.
